The Summer Slam at VIR has historically been a tough weekend for us with the event unfortunately living up to its name in previous years.  This time would also be the first time in several years that Dan and Harry would take the track with each other.

Bobbie was also in the hunt for the points race and needed some strong finishes to hold on to her top 10 standings in the points.  Harry was instructing which meant that he couldn't get to grid in time and had to start on pit row from behind the field.  In Bobbie's race she qualified pretty well and then was running fairly strong when the engine started having problems.  She managed to nurse the car far enough along before the engine froze, but it was enough points to keep her in 7th place for the season.  Dan had somewhat better luck as he earned the pole and overcame a problem on the start to take the lead and walk away with a relatively easy victory while Harry helped with a little late-race blocking to make sure no one could bridge the gap and challenge him.  It was a hard weekend with brutal temps, but Bobbie got her points and Dan and Harry ended up with some strong runs as we turn our attentions to the National Championships in just a little over a month.
