The first points race of the
season got started for Dan - and only Dan - at Summit Point's Shenandoah
circuit.  It was my first time racing on this relatively new track, but it
turned out that things worked pretty well.  On Saturday, I ended up
starting in third position and took second overall while setting the fastest lap
time during the race.  On Sunday, I qualified fourth, but I wasn't too
worried since traffic played a big deal in qualifying.  About halfway
through the race I was up to first in class and second overall while riding the
bumper of the Mustang in first place.  With just two turns to go, I managed
to get the inside lane when me and the Mustang bumped.  I came across the
finish line in first place overall.  Unfortunately, the bump ended up
getting me disqualified.  Ugh.  A really hard fought win results in no
points.  That's racing for you.
Here's a little video from the start
